1948 Bristol L6A Beadle 31 seat coach

This coach was delivered to Royal Blue, the express coaching subsidiary of Western/Southern National Omnibus Company being owned by Western National

It is fitted with a 7.7 litre AEC engine as specified by Royal Blue as Bristol were at this time still developing and proving their AVW engine

The coachwork, largely to Duple design, was contracted out to Beadles of Dartford as the coach building capacity during the post war recovery period and features staggered seating to allow a little more elbow room in the 7'6" width of the vehicle.

bought by 2 group members in August 2000 as can be seen from photos it has had some repanelling & full repaint as well as mechanical repairs returning to the road in may 2002.

The bus is currently painted in a replica 1980's all over advert livery (the livery was originally carried by MUA47P) for Metro Train which was and still is part of West Yorkshire PTE's operations

This vehicle has changed ownership and left the group. The photos will stay on here as its part of the groups history.

The first test runs of the Aire Valley Transport Groups 1938 Leyland TS8 it will be launched on Saturday 17th May at the Haworth 40's weekend with full wartime markings and blast netting.
